New wedding date: September 13th, 2021

As most of you reading this should have already been informed, our wedding has been postponed from July 2nd, 2021 to September 13th 2021. The postponement was due to covid-related border closures and restrictions on gatherings in Italy that would have impeded our ability to celebrate our wedding with our international group of invitees on the originally scheduled date. While we had always known that this may be a possibility, we regret that it has had to come to pass.

We waited until 7 weeks before the wedding to make this decision in order to balance waiting as long as we could for restrictions to potentially be lifted, while also leaving time for invitees to reschedule their plans for July and eventually for the wedding.

At the time of our decision, there were unfortunately no dates available to reserve the entire hotel for the two nights surrounding the wedding, as had always been planned, until September. While September will be an even better date for the wedding than July for many reasons (e.g. fewer tourists on the island, more comfortable temperatures, and cheaper travel), we also acknowledge that this date will be less convenient for our invitees with families, as it conflicts with school schedules, which begin again in August and September. We feel really bad about this, as indeed, we chose our original July date to improve the convenience of attending the wedding for our invitees with families. Unfortunately, between La Suite closing for the season in October and not wanting to wait until summer 2022 to celebrate our wedding, we were left with no choice about this.

If you have already booked a hotel room with La Suite for the original wedding date, do not distress! La Suite will be transferring all reservations to the new wedding date. If you reserved with La Suite, you will be contacted directly by them to confirm the reservation change. If you have any questions regarding your booking with La Suite, please reach out to our wedding planner Marina Caliendo, and she'll be happy to assist you.

If you had not yet booked a hotel room, and were interested in staying at La Suite (noting that you are not limited to staying at the hotel where the wedding will be hosted - there are many nearby alternatives), you can now book a room around the September 13th wedding date. For more information on booking with La Suite, please visit the La Suite page on our website.

We understand that travel and trip planning is complicated generally, particularly to foreign countries, and even more so during covid. We know that many of you had already booked your travel and lodgings for the original wedding date, and appreciate that this postponement will result in the need for further changes to your itineraries. If you are having trouble re-booking your travel plans, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us, and we'll do what we can to help. We encourage you to explore this website, in which we've tried to include sample travel itineraries from the main destinations of our invitees, as well as information on lodgings in Procida. Of course, our website is not exhaustive, and thus we remain at your disposal for all questions and concerns. We hope that together we can make the process of booking your travel to celebrate our wedding together as painless as possible.

Last but not least, we encourage you to RSVP as soon as you are able to. If you already RSVP'd for the July wedding date, we ask that you RSVP again for the September date (apologies for this extra step!).

Thanks in advance to all of you who are making this colossal effort to share this incredibly important day with us.

If you're curious about the background photo, it's a reminder that this wedding is not the only one to have ever been postponed (see Seinfeld Season 7, Episode 2). Not to worry though, we used wet cutips to seal our paper invitation envelopes...
